Who can answer my questions once I arrive in a parking facility?

Customers may contact us using the Assistance button located at exit gates, entrance gates, or parking payment machines.

What forms of payment are accepted for parking fees in the Texas Medical Center?

Cash and credit cards are accepted.

What are the daily parking fees?

  • 0 - 1 hour $ 5.00
  • 1 hour - 2 hours $ 8.00
  • 2 hours - 4 hours $ 10.00
  • 4 hours - 24 hours $12.00
  • Lost SmartChip $20.00

What do I do if I lose my SmartChip?

Customers may contact the TMC Parking Help Line using the Assistance button on any pay station machine.

Do you have discounted parking facilities?

Economy visitor parking is available at Garage 8 located at 2151 W. Holcombe Blvd., at the corner of Holcombe Blvd. and Pressler St. and The South Extension Lot located at 1522 S. Braeswood Blvd. (and William C. Harvin Blvd). Both facilities are $6/per day (maximum). In addition, Garage 7 located at 1120 John Freeman Blvd. offers economy visitor parking for $9/day (maximum).

I need to come and go several times during the day. Every time I come back I have to 'start over' with a new SmartChip.  Do you have some type of program to help me?

Pre-paid SmartChips offer visitors unlimited in-and-out privledges and discounted rates. They are available in $52 and $100 denominations at select pay station machines across campus. Click here for details.

Where do I go when I approach the garage I intended on parking in an the full light is on?

You may enter the facility and look for a space or be redirected to the next most convenient facility to your final destination.

How to purchase a parking contract?

Employees are required to contact their individual institution for parking assignments.

Can a parking contract be purchased through Texas Medical Center if the employer did not have garage space available?

Yes, an institutional employee may purchase a contract directly through Texas Medical Center. The contract will not qualify for payroll deduction.

Can a contract be placed on hold due to a leave of absence?

We are unable to place our parking spaces on hold.

How can I pay for my Parking Contract?

We offer the following payment options:

  • Recurring payment plans which automatically deduct the monthly payment from a credit card, or checking account. 

I have a contract for parking in a garage; will my parking card allow me to park in other garages after hours?

Your parking card gives you access 24 hours/7 days a week in your assigned location only.

I have after hours access to park in the garage (6:00 p.m.). Can I pull a SmartChip and pay from the time I pulled the SmartChip to 6:00 p.m.?

If you pull a SmartChip you will be required to pay from the time the ticket is pulled until you exit with the SmartChip.

If I am later than 8:00 a.m. exiting my after hours parking garage can I pay from 8:00 a.m. until the time I exit?

If you are not enrolled in the late exit program by your institution, you will be required to pay the daily maximum rate for that facility to exit.

Is there a grace period for paying your monthly parking contract?

Payments are due on the 1st of the month.  All past due accounts are assessed a late fee of $10.00 (plus tax) on the 2nd business day of the month and subject to deactivation.

If you pull a ticket to enter your assigned parking garage, can your parking card be reset to allow you to exit?

If a SmartChip is pulled to enter, you will be required to pay for that SmartChip to exit.

 

FAQ's for Direct Bill Parkers

Where do I send the completed Parking Contract Form?

Fax the completed Parking Contract Form (front and back) to 713-791-6143.  Please provide a daytime telephone number and best time to call.

How do I make my initial payment to activate my parking contract?

Once your completed Parking Contract Form is received, a CRS will contact you at the number you provided. The CRS will provide the amount due, which is prorated for the first month based on the effective start date of your parking contract.

How will I receive my parking card?

Your new parking contract package, which includes the parking card, can be mailed or you may pick up it up at the J.P. McGovern Campus Security Desk located at 2450 Holcombe Blvd. at the main entrance off of Holcombe Blvd. The CRS will notify you of the time your contract package will be available for pick up. Picture identification is required to pick up the parking contract package.

How do I terminate my parking contract?

If you wish to discontinue your monthly parking contract, you must terminate the parking contract prior to the first day of the month in which the parking services are no longer needed. Termination requests received on or after the first day of the month to terminate the contract during the same month will be effective through the last day of that month. No refunds will be issued for unused parking.

To terminate the contract, submit written notification to Texas Medical Center via our website (www.tmcparking.org), by email to contractparking@texasmedicalcenter.org, by fax to 713-791-6143 or by US mail to Texas Medical Center, Contract Parking Dept. 2450 Holcombe Blvd Suite 1, Houston, Texas 77021.

When are payments due?

Once your parking contract is established monthly payments are due by the 1st of each month. Payments are considered late if received after the 1st of the month and are subject to deactivation and a late fee assessed.  All individual direct bill contracts require one of these two payment methods:

  • Recurring credit card:  Set up a recurring payment plan in which your parking bill is automatically charged to your credit card each month.
  • Direct debit:  The direct debit option allows Texas Medical Center to automatically charge your checking account each month.
